Tulsi Gabbard, Presidential Candidate, on Lead in Water Issue

Our CEO Chuck Bove recently had the opportunity to have a chat with Presidential Candidate and Eco Warrior Powerhouse, Tulsi Gabbard. She is a truly inspiring woman, and aspires to lead the country to greatness through long-lasting and committed improvement in what we think are the most important areas for the general public. Water safety ranks highly on the list of important needs for our country moving forward, as was clearly stated when Tulsi said that “All people have a right to clean water. We must do everything we can to protect our natural resources and ensure that everyone—no matter where they may live—can live without fear of water contamination.”

From a young age Tulsi has shown a lot of passion around the well being of our planet and its nature, no doubt growing up in Hawaii had a massive impact on that as she was very active and spent a lot of time out doors in her teen years. and since then she has been fighting for clean water as she recognizes that “water is life”.

on her campaign website, it is stated that “Tulsi has personally visited Flint, Michigan and fought for federal legislation to address the drinking water crisis nationally”

She has openly stated that “No matter if it's contaminated by mining, agriculture, or failing infrastructure, water pollution is a public health crisis. Everyone deserves access to clean water. We need to address this now.”

For reasons unknown to us, this national crisis that we are experiencing is being undermined by other topics that appear to be considered “more important” by other political figures, when in fact safe drinking water is debatably the most important thing for us as humans. Tulsi has shown a front-running attitude when it comes to the general needs for the public and has taken a strong interest in the issue at hand, which is complemented by her long past of interest on the matter, before it even became a big issue in the media.

Water is life. We can all agree that protecting our clean water resources, updating aged water and sewer infrastructure to prevent lead and other contamination, and maintaining our planet and people's health is a priority shared by people of all backgrounds and beliefs.”

Tulsi helped obtain $3 million in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, to aid in drinking water infrastructure in Puna region of Hawaii. Additionally she assisted in obtaining a $20 million research grant for UH and also secured $6.5 million for groundwater pollution protection programs in Hawaii’s rural communities and nationwide. We believe its safe to say that Tulsi is an excellent candidate, and truly has the well being of the people at heart and in the forefront of her campaign!

Watch the video below to see her intelligent and forward thinking reactions to what Chuck had to say, and lets try to spread the message together!
